CAUSES & SYMPTOMS OF MALE INFERTILITY

Male infertility is a major problem and it can occur if a man is not able to sustain an erection and can not carry a healthy and mature sperm to fertilize an egg. 





Symptoms of male infertility

The problems of male infertility are related to the perm quality or sperm count. Another problems that may arise due to the following reasons:

  • Abnormally shaped sperm
  • Sperm with poor motility
  • Poor sperm quality
  • Sperm that cannot attach the head to the egg
  • Sperm that cannot penetrate the egg
Low sperm count is a common male infertility problem. Usually men have 20 million sperm per milliliter of semen, while a count of 10 million sperm per milliliter or lower is considered too low. At times, men suffer from azoospermia, a condition where the ejaculate contains no sperm. While most of the men have high sperm count but they don’t have the ability to release the sperm and therefore their sperm become unable to fertilize the egg. A related condition is retrograde flow of sperm. When sperm are ejaculated, they travel back into the bladder and thus cannot enter the woman’s body. This condition may be caused by medications or occur after surgery.


Causes of male infertility

There are many causes of male infertility. Here are some factors that may affect a man’s fertility include:

  • Age
  • Alcohol, smoking, or drug use
  • Stress
  • Certain medications
  • Environmental toxins
  • Genetic conditions
  • Chemotherapy and radiation
  • Surgery
  • Injuries, structural damage or deformity
Another major risk for male infertility is weight issues. Extra abdominal fat is known to increase scrotal temperatures, hampering a man’s fertility.


Signs of male infertility


Male infertility can be hormonal. Different signs for male infertility are :
  • Changes in hair growth
  • Pain, lump, or swelling in the testicles
  • Problems with erections and ejaculation.
  • Small, firm testicles

Male infertility can be treated. The person need to consult the urologist expert to come out of this problem.
